What, the website or sharing the music?

Its legal to share the music if he owns the copyright for it.

Eg he bought the rights for it from a wrioter / label or he wrote the music.

The website is legal (like Napster was) if you use it for its proper perpose. To share Music that you own the copyright too.

You only can upload 3 songs to purevolume though i think.

Try download.com and click on the music tab r music.download.com is the direct link i belive. 50mb to play with...

Of course it is. People always assume hosting music is illegal. Creating the music yourself, and using a site like posted above is 100% legal.

I strongly recommend using sites such as these to get their music heard, etc.

If it wasn't legal, how would mp3.com last as long as it did

the site above is just like launch.com, but for smaller artists. But you also get recordlables advertisign some pretty big bands such as yellowcard on that site.

So it clearly is 110% legal!

Actually glad I found this. I just finished a site for a client: nfluentmusic.com I think we've put a lot of features in for people trying to get recognized. 30 megs / 6 songs, whichever u reach first. Free.
