Question

I can't transfer my domain!

I registered my domain thru one of enoms resellers who has recently gone out of business without telling anyone. I did a who is search and found that they were my registrar. I need to transfer domain to a registar, but i don't know the username or password for my enom account to unlock it. I have contacted enom a few times but they haven't responded. What can i do about this?

Usually, they will respond, though sometimes slowly. I'm guessing you don't have the ability to push the domain, eh?

I checked their site and they do offer the ability to push a domain. I sorta understand what it means to push a domain but not very well. It says i need my login ID for the account it's going to. Does this mean i need to get another account first?

Pushing it is just moving it from one account to another. I get the feeling you won't be able to do this, but who knows. Usually you should find this option in the cp after logging into your domain, which I'm not sure you can even get into...

"i don't know the username or password for my enom account to unlock it"

-soooooo, if you can get into your domain, and you do see:

» Push/Move this domain into a different eNom account

then I'd create an account at enom, and see if you can push it into your account (username=accountname)

If the web host you signed up through was FreeHostSpace, then you need to contact Derrick Hall at CheapHostOnline.com in Seattle. Apparently FreeHostSpace is (or was) just a reseller for them. There a number of other resellers who use CheapHostOnline and eNom too. Here are some e-mail addresses I found.

domreg@cheaphostonline.net
admin@cheaphostonline.net
derrick@cheaphostonline.net

I had a similar problem with eNom, which I still have not resolved completely. Derrick Hall e-mailed me back with the password, so I was able to log in to my account and change the nameservers to point to a different host.

When you get the password, go here to log into your account:
http://access.enom.com/

I learned that it's best to always register your own domain names, even if the total cost is a little more. Set up an account with a registrar like GoDaddy and register them yourself, and then you can make any of the necessary changes.
