Auto Start Up??

Hey Guys,

I didn't know where to post this really!

Simple question (i think). Is there a way to have a ''Automatic Start Up'' for my server. So basically, my computer shuts down at a certain time using a program, but is there a way (non-program or if there is some magic program way) of starting my server ''up'' at a certain time on a certain day?

Hope this one gets you lot thinking, lol,
The Echo,

Although I'm not sure, it would be kind of hard, because its hard to have a program running on a computer that is turned off.
Unless you had a little robot that at a certain time pushed a button or something.

Echo, if you're looking to start from a fully powered-off state you'll need some kind of hardware capable of "waking" the system. Some ethernet cards provide a wake-on-lan traffic service, other tools like Dell's remote access card provide a tool that can power-cycle servers regardless of their state.

If you want simple just put the computer into suspended mode and have your OS boot when a certain program flags it to. Windows has this functionality as of Win2k and it's not hard to work with.

Mine has a setting in the BIOS to turn itself on at a certain time, try checking there.
