Monitor resources

Hi,

I am a newbi, how can I setup a script or program to monitor if a user tried to use too many of the server resources?

Also, is there a way to monitor top so if it gets to high, I can send an email.

Thanks so much for your help!!

thanks for the reply

Is there any way for me to limit the number of resources a customer uses on a shared server so that I can make sure they do not write cgi scripts that take up all of my server cpu or other resources.

Thanks for your help!!!
