linksys wireless card problem

Got a Linksys PCI Card its a WMP54GS attached to a windows 98 Machine

IVe installed the Card to the PC and Software

Windows detects the Card and the Software installed beautifully

Problem is that there is no ACT light coming on at all despite the access point being right next to the pC

Thing is that When the PC boots up the Light Comes on and shows up the Green LED light

as soon as it hits windows and it loads up the Light Dissapears

Ive rang LINKSYS their support seems USELESS! all they suggested was to go out and get another Wireless card and replace it...

before i do that i wanna see if anyone has any other ideas?

NOthing wrong with the Routers/access points as other machines seems to be working

just this one is a problem

anyone has any ideas

Have you checked their website for updates to the card or newer drivers?

Sometimes, windows does not install the correct drivers.

Go to (Right-Click) properties > MY Computer > Device Manager and uninstall the driver. Maybe different for 98.

Install again using the driver directly from linksys
