We've created a PHP/MySQL product that many of you might find interesting. It lets you provide a free weblog hosting service to your customers. The program includes an ad placement feature, which means you can force ads on the top or bottom of your users' weblogs to generate revenue.

We have tentative plans to expand the product in the future - extra features might include RSS and subdomain addresses (user.host.com). I would like to hear your feedback (particularly in regards to usability) and suggestions for additional features.

Why couldnt you of advertised this earlier? I just paid a coder to make something like this for me - but yours is better then what i got -stamps my foot-

kudos on a job well done. The demos look fantastic. you cover all the bases of what an end user would want.

maybe an addon could be as well as the rss and subdomain - an upgrade option? so users can pay a fee to have advertisements turned off on their blogs.

Thanks for your compliments and input. We are considering PayPal integration for the next version, but that will take some effort. We'll need to implement user levels and such. Any other ideas?

I think you should show a demo with a blog that has used all the features your software has to offer then a couple blog posts. If I saw what it could do from someone adding in all that could be done with it I'd buy it but just looking at an example blog with just 5 or so posts doesn't entice me to buy it.

Make it as search engine friendly as possible, it would be nice to have www.blogdomain.com/user as standard...... and no = or ? in any of the publicly viewed areas...

We are hoping to incorporate Wildcard DNS so that users can have subdomains. I'm looking at integrating this script:

PayPal integration (subscriptions with IPN) will be a possible addition in the future. In the meantime, if you are familiar with PayPal integration and PHP, you are welcome to modify your installation of BlogHoster to include this feature.

One question, the one time 199.95, will this include support and upgrades into the future?

Hi rmj, thanks for your comments. The price includes installation (if you need help), future patches/updates, and support. Also, we will be creating some discussion boards in the next few weeks where users can swap mod ideas, etc. We also plan to write some of our own mods and distribute them to our customers for free.
