Hi all,

Got a Quick networking Question..probably simple!

Got 3 PC's in this room All running Win 98 Connected Via a Netgear 8 port Switch

For some reason They are having problems connecting to the Internet and seeing the network

What ive done is that Firstly I connected One Network Wire from the network Port on the wall to the Switch and connected the other Network Wires from the Switch to the PC's

Doing this none of the PC's Seem to be having any internet connection nor can they See the Network, but the Lights are all on (on the Switch and the network card Light)

So then i Connected one PC directly to the Network Port and That seemed to be fine Connecting to the Internet and Picking up the network perfectly.

Im only assuming that the Switch must be faulty or something wrong with it.?

One thing though i noticed the Cable which i used to connect from the Network Port on the wall to the Switch, That had no lights on..but the others were fine

Do u think its the Switch that is the problem (faulty??) or im i missing something out totally!
