They got the rubber bands off their claws so fast I think they already had it planned out. Who would have thought lobsters were so angry at us for boiling them alive and eating them? I used to enjoy a good surf and turf dinner. Not any more."

Yanno, i never liked lobster. Shrimp, yes.. lobster, no.

About 20 years ago, I was single living on my own. One day, on the way home from work, I decided to try picking up a fresh lobster and having it for dinner. I brought it home and tenuously took it out of the bag and set it on the counter. I made the fatal mistake of naming him. Larry. Yes, Larry the lobster.

By the time the water came to a boil, I had already established a relationship with the little guy. So what to do? Yet I was hungry. So I dropped him into the water. The shrieks and screams he gave out were heart breaking. It was like he was saying "But I thought we were friends!!!"

I never did eat him. One bite and I gagged, and gave him a proper burial.

If it helps, lobster have no vocal cords....

It's merely the sound of steam escaping from spaces twixt the carapace...a la tea kettle....

Okay, maybe that doesn't help either

No, he went red with anger and disappointment. I'm pretty sure I even saw a tear come from his beady little eyes.

And Khaibit, thanks for trying to make me feel better. But Larry definitely had vocal chords. I still remember his parting words..."Et tu, vito..."

You lobster-killing monster! How can you live with yourself? HOW?!

EDIT: You might as well have stuck a pin in him. Err, I mean...

Eugene, I beg of you, don't send me spiralling back to therapy. It took several years to make peace with the whole ordeal. The shrinks got enough of my money.
