My suggestion, instead of having a dedicated server, you should have ordered a reseller account to start with. So that whenever you had any queries you can contact your ISP for answers. Once you have enough clients and knowledge, than you can move to your own dedicated server.

Just my 2 cents.

To be honest i saw the server control panel if the server is configured and ready to be used as i saw its so simple to use but the problem most companies give you the server with nothing configured on it. And this is what i'm trying to do find a company so i can get administrator to configure the server.

Just a quick comment from my own perspective: Having a reseller account (at least using WHM/cPanel) is virtually useless in teaching you how to run a dedicated server.

There are so many more issues it's not even funny.

Although it is fun for me -- I'm having fun learning, but it is pretty much the difference between driving a rented car with towing/mechanical/gas services and owning your own car. You need to know how to change the oil, check the engine, change a tire -- oh, there's so much that I'm leaning about my server...

What I did: Jumped in and got a dedicated server, and as I had problems, googled (and searched WHT specifically) for answers...

It's worked so far. Time will tell. :-)

Flipe.NET thanks for the link i tried them before but i had a problem with thier services so i switched to tomsyer,
Isaac.Eiland-Hall About me googleing staff i usually do that cause i'm running linux as a desktop in my work and its so much fun to google and look solve your troubles and keep a track for things. But the thing is i faced problems with the domain name and it took me alot of time to fix it and its not fixed as i wanted. And you know dealing with domains and nameservers you need to wait at least 48 hours to see your work result which kills me and slow down my work process thats why i thought about getting experinced person to get my server working and running and on time i can handle things i guess so. but thanks for your replay and really thats what i'm planning to do as soon as i get my server working and clients online.

Hey, I completely hear you... The only reason I was able to do things this way is that I'm basically hosting friends for a pittance... If I go down -- they can deal. (Even though I would like to keep things professional, and in fact, I'm trying to expand business now...)

If I had "paying customers", I think I'd go with a reseller until I could afford a cheap dedicated, get the dedicated to play with until I was confident I could fix some problems, then maybe start doing some selling on it...

Best of luck, regardless... :-)

I share this same opinion. Then if something goes down your clients would not have to wait for you to find the answer and then fix the problem. The issue would be dealt with right away.

In order to have that, you will need to know what you are doing, having a control panel like WHM helps a lot but that is maybe the 50% of what you should know. If something in the server brakes or you get an attack, or you need an urgent upgrade etc, you better know what you are doing or maybe you'll end up with a big down time or web sites not working.

I recommend that you start with a reseller account while you learn, then get a managed dedicated server or at least contract a company to do it like http://www.fastservermanagement.com/ but don't try doing this alone if you don't know much yet.
