iPowerWeb -- Blogging and phpBB

PART I - - - - - - - - -

I am looking for a new shared server with great webstats features and I found iPower Web and tried their demo control panel and I found they have turn key B2 blogging and phpBB. NOW I WANT THAT.

Does anyone else offer these feature that I can compare reviews or is iPower the only game in town?

PART II - - - - - - - - -

1&1 = Bad here is why I am looking for a new shared hosting serivce.

1. They erase Logs that are 3 months old.
2. Their online webstate are poor at best.

OK, off my chest.

They probably use a commercial control panel like cPanel or Plesk (i haven't looked). I don't know what you mean by "turn key", but you can have the CP install certain scripts for you(phpBB, B2, phpNuke, etc..). Many other providers use cPanel, which is known to have a lot of extra apps.

What about just installing the scripts yourself? It couldn't be that hard.

I would strongly suggest that you not chose a web host based on a bunch of random features and cool spizaz. Make sure that they run reliable hardware/software, they have a stable/reliable/redundant/robust connection, with pleanty of potential for expansion (both on their behalf and yours). Make sure that they are in a good datacenter (if they don't own it) and that the datacenters network is not running at more than 90% capacity. Make sure that you aren't 10 switches from the datacenter/bandwidth providers routers (That's never a good thing). Just a few examples of things, that in my opinion, are of more importance than A forum or blog script, both of which can be setup for free, easily, using free software, on almost any web host (including most free ones). In addition, there are many siteso out there that solely host these boards and such, and many of them do it for free (based on ads).

Just my $.02
