The kinds of things people will LOL at these days...
I've been around this internet we have a few times, and I have realized that there are alot of unfunny things that people will throw "lol" at, just for the hell of.
So, this got me thinking. How often do you type "lol", and at the same time really laugh out loud at?
For me, the definition of "lol" has changed since i showed up here. I now use the following system
ha - replying to something that was a humor attempt, but not funny
lol - a small chuckle in real life
lmao - a real life
ROFL - A high power laugh, not really rolling on floor
AHAHAHAHAHHAHA! - same as ROFL
I've never found myself laughing at something on the computer, and getting out of my chair.
Anyways.. How's your humor system work on the internet?

I completely agree with you on this one. LOL is overused. Even I type LOL when in real like i mean like HEH.
PS. I used to say LOL is real life actually, but that's a different story.

Personally, when I say LOL it usually is a fake laugh. Only the odd time will I actually be laughing when I use it.

I have now completely replaced lol and lmao with the Yahoo smilies. They say it best.

this is the lounge .. therefore it IS the place for all the L33T Ub3Rz p0stz .... and I also had a friend or two who used IRC so much they started using LOL in real life ... that WAS scary !!!

Back in the college days, I accidentally say "LOL" outloud in the library's computer lab. Imagine the eyes that staring at me... As soon as I realized, I didn't dare to look around, let alone take my eyes off the screen. All I knew was that my ears was at the point that it was almost steaming...

LOL equals a smile, ROFLMAO means I showed teeth when smiling, but only briefly. If I find myself actually laughing, it's time to go outside for some fresh air.
