Yeah, but cPanel doesn't even work with PHP5. That's why you see all these PHP4 scripts installed on servers that are using cPanel. Plesk is going to take over by sheer compatibility with newer standards.

Well, for windows 2003: Plesk has made the trick so far for me.

Cpanel is the best, no questions about it. Plesk is okay. Good thing is that Plesk is available on windows as well.

cPanel is probably the best. But if I had to choose another software I'd go with DirectAdmin.

    Enkompass is nearly out.
The think that I dont like about Plesk is that you need to pay for even the slightest of Support you ask and that too $75/ticket.

I recommend and use cPanel now. I do recall using it ages ago and much more people confirmed what I said at the time. I was running H-Sphere, Plesk, Ensim and cPanel servers all at once and had the most trouble with cPanel, especially with resellers doing things they shouldn't have.

I don't know how much of a future H-Sphere has now, so I would highly recommend cPanel for Linux and Plesk for Windows, and as a second choice for Linux.

The best control panel for hosting is undoubtedly Virtualmin+Webmin.

I'm using the GPL version for a year and I can not find nothing that can not be done. Incredible.

It is a bit tricky to use at first, but it is reasonable for the amount of things you can do. You have de S.O control with webmin and Hosting control with Virtualmin.

To have resellers you need the Pro version.

    For the next step, Cloudmin.

    Control Panels

All Panels have user limit in Bandwidth and Disk Space used.
Has any of a panel possibilities to limit CPU time used by user scripts and Mysql database Connection counts?

martfox - I don't have those troubles now.. If you want you can read other threads back when this thread was started.. There were plenty of praises and plenty of complaints then.

Or we can let an old thread die..

Cpanel will be the best option in order to provide an easy interface to the clients so that they can administrate the things at their end itself.

cPanel in my opinion is the best, its just dominated the whole market, rarther like WHMCS.

    Hello,

In My Opinion If you are looking for control panel. Keep in mind These things.

    1) Operating system you are using

    2) Ease of use,

    3)Reliable

    4)Extensible

    5)You're in Control

    6)Web Developer-Friendly

    7)Secure

    8)Cutting-edge

    9)Universal Support

    10)White-Label Reseller Support

    11)Mobile Accessibility

    So I would Recommend

If, you are using Linux/Unix based Os go in for cPanel/WHM Is undoubtedly the best.

If using Windows base OS You can go for Plesk.

Definitely cPanel. Also, if your on Windows, check out Enkompass. You could never go wrong with either.

I have been using cPanel for 7 years and would recommend it. Yet they are very slow with updating they 3rd party software. Things like Horde, Awstats, Munin and so on.

If you are looking for light can low budget. Try Directadmin

From you 3 choice, I would definitely advice cPanel.

I suggest Helm also, I've used it and it's /a lot/ better then cPanel in my opinion, and anyhow your using Windows Server OS, therefore you cannot run cPanel anyways.

We have used Helm since 2006. You could probably find a used license for $250 and get a turnkey solution.

I would reccomend plesk, its the without a doubt the best control panel i have ever used.

CPanel is not an option on a windows based server. CPanel does offer a windows based verion called Enkompass but its for Windows Server 2008 and not 2003.
