I was wondering, for current customer. How is SagoNET network? Stable, poor? Please elaborate on your experience.
Thank you,
Francisco

I thought they were good and was going to buy a server from them until I found out I pinged over 80ms and lived within 100 miles of their datacenter.

I'm a sagonet customer, couldn't be happier. Although for a period of time last month, they were having network upgrades, with a lengthy amount of downtime. After their completion of the upgrade, my server has been on and up ever since.. Their support is great too, sometimes they'd answer my inquiries within a minute.

sago had a torrid summer but the last 2 weeks have seen them become more stable again, I also hear they bringing gblx back alongside level3 so the future is looking better for sago now.

I got two boxes at sago. They did have a bad summer, but give them a break, they got raped by how many hurricanes?
Their techs are very kind, and very hard working. I've had to call in NULL routes at 2 am, and there was people around helping me as best they could.
Their sales team is also very good they helped me with some payment related things w/o any issues.
As for a sales rep, go talk with sagomatt directly

Right now their only downfall is that they only have one backbone provider (level 3). I live in Arkansas and I go all the way to Chicago before I hit tampa, I end up with a 75-80 ping, however if I ping my box with them from my dallas server, I get a 25 ping go figure.
However, I believe that soon their backbones will improve. As far as I know they are in the process of getting a 1gbps Global Crossing backbone, and are talking with Sprint, and Williams communications for another 2 backbones which should show less latency due to more routes being opened up.
As far as support I havent had any problems. Opened up one ticket and the problem was resolved in 20 minutes. Theres usally always someoone on MSN/Aim/ICQ to talk to in case you have a problem.

I was their customer. The support was quick and pep over there was nice to talk.
I was in bad luck and my server had problem. Instead of replacing my server, they keep saying there was no problem with my server. I was impatient and canceled the server. If you are not one of rare unlucky customer, you will be happy.

And what does your physical proximity to them have to do with their network 'pinging' 80ms away from a residential broadband (?) connection that may very well be backhauling all your bits to another part of the country and/or quite possibly experiencing congestion?
The fact that you ping 80ms to sagonet means nothing about sagonets network.

Sorry about how I worded it but I wasn't happy with my ping proximity wise so I decided not to go with them. For some reason it routes me from southeast Florida (Miami) to Texas (Dallas) and then to southwest Florida (Tampa). Which was kind of strange.

Hopefully after another month or so you shouldn't be seing those strange routres once sagonet gets in a few more backbone providers.
