Registerfly.com, Ticket open for more than a week
Hello
Recently we changed our service provider and we needed to change IP addresses of our nameservers.
I openned a ticket on registerfly support system but it seems customer is not important for them in any way.
It is about 7 days without any answer. Think if we did not have additional nameservers and domain what we could do?
I have openned another ticket for removing nameservers for another domain and free their IP addresses for use by our previous service provider but again tickt remains open.
I strongly suggest everyone to be away from registerfly if their customers and domains are important for them.
Just an advice.
I have about 30 domains with them and always had problem. Always !!!

I a newbie and finally decided to get my own domain name. Registerfly seemed simple enough and cheap enough. I had some basic questions that were not in their FAQ. I opened a trouble ticket on 01/24/2002. No response from support. I guess you get what you pay for but this has been a horrible experience with them. NEVER use Registerfly. There doesn't appear to be any support. And don't even bother with their "Live Chat" option. It doesn't work either.
Now I have to figure out how to get out of this situation. I had information overload just getting a domain name. Now I have to figure out how to transfer.

Transfers are simple - in theory.
Go to your new registrar of choice and initiate the transfer.
You should receive a validation request from RegisterFly. This will go to the admin email contact in your domain record, so make sure this information is correct before you begin.
Once you confirm the transfer, it will generally take another couple of days to complete.
Good luck. There are many places out there to get burned with domain registration companies.

In theory, Yes
I requested a domain transfer (in 000domains.com) but registerfly.com has not answered them for the las 8 (EIGHT) days !!!!
In fact it seems no one is there to answer request. And I worry that 000domains may cancel transfer.

I could be wrong but I recall that no answer eventually means no denial and the transfer will take place (though it goes a bit quicker when the transfer is either approved or denied directly).

i just hated registerfly... i registered a domain with them... transferred within a week... even then, my transfer registrar said they had received no replies back to their request for transfer for my domains.
even after a year of completely taking registerfly out of the picture, they still spam me... according to them, i subscribed to it... and I've asked them to remove my email from their list and even tried their 'Unsubscribe' button and I STILL receive their dumb useless emails (now i consider as spam since it is unsolicited).
oh well... i would never recommend anyone use registerfly - they charge $10 to create nameservers for your domains - i mean, what other registrars actually charge for creating host names? even NetSol provides host names for domains without a fee!
oh well, im happy with stargate

Transfer completed after 9 (NINE ) days.
By the way I receive an email in my mailbox for every expired name which tells me that the domain is going to expire. (Each week).
And I receive at least 8 spams from them but I do not remember I have subscribed to their spams. I never do subscribe for email lists that I do not really need them.
And nameserver removal request has remained unresolved yet after 9 days.

Registerfly is cheap but crap, just look at the ugly website!
I sent them three trouble tickets and in my life and they just closed ALL of them without replying!!!
Finally I managed to move my domains to directnic (it took me a week)...however, they didn't even delete those names in my account! When I sign into my old rf-account I can still see all the names that I have actually transfered a long time ago...

No support from Registerfly.com
I've registered a few names with registerfly.com and the set-up of the names has gone rather well. However, their site is FILLED with dead links/page not found messages. Support is also EXTREMELY poor to non-existent.
My first request went unanswered for weeks. When I finally went to check up on it, almost 2 months later, I discovered they had closed the issue with no resolution or notification to me. I reopened the issue on 1/02/02 and still have not received a reply.
On 1/2/02, I opened another request using another account for work and it took them over 6 days to respond. I had tried to register a batch of names with a discount code they had given me. First I hit dead links. Then, I finally made it into the registration process, but it would not accept the discount code, telling me it was invalid (the code was valid at the time, and expired in 3 days). I contacted them again on 1/8/02 to try and resolve the issue. I must have caught someone online or in the office (probably basement) as I received a response the same day stating that the offer had expired. I replied back on 1/9/02 stating that it was not my fault they couldn't respond back in a timely manner and that I should still receive the discount price. If they would have responded back to me within 24 hrs, I would still have had over 24 hrs to register the names at the discounted price. They closed the issue on 1/25/02 without further comment or email to me. I had also emailed their parent company (Unified Names, which has it's own share of dead links) on 1/8/02 and have still not received a response from anyone there. I guess maybe that's why they responded to me on 1/8/02.
I posted my third question on 2/6/02 asking for some basic DNS assistance. The question is still unanswered as I write this. I also submitted a Live Support request about the same issue on 2/6/02. I did not receive any assistance or notification via the Live Support option and just today received a non-delivery notice via email, meaning that they haven't even checked in to their Live Support feature for over 48 hrs. Like another user stated, their Live Support feature is a JOKE. I now see a notice dated 2/7/02 that they will only have limited chat support from 2/1-2/15 - Such timely notification, once again.
All of this is magnified by a statement on their main support page: "We try to answer most responses within 4-6 hours." It's more like 4-6 days, if you're lucky!!
Needless to say, another company will be benefiting from their losses.

Well, I'd have to say my expereinces with RegisterFly are different. I have about 3 or so domains with them, opened about 4 trouble tickets and believe they have had them answered. I also went to their live support a few weeks ago because thier register a new nameserver option did not seem to be functioning, and they were nice and set it up for me, heh. I always thought RegisterFly was well respected, by the replies on this post I guess not

well here is my story...
I bought a domain from a person (it was already registered by registerfly) wanted to transfer it to my enom account...
won't let me transfer becasue domain is "locked" registerfly is some kinda reseller for enom, and enom makes this feature easy to lock or unlock, but I can't find a way to unlock my domain
sent in trouble ticket, its been over a month now with no reply, they updated the ticket but can't tell what was updated... but it is still open

My experience with them has been awesome. I have nearly 40 domains with them. I have many friends and business associates who use them and are very pleased.

They kinda suck.
I signed-up and charged me $30 to put in my account.
But after logging in, my account credit was zero bucks
So i openend a ticket, waited 3 days no reply.
Openend another one. No reply.
After 7 days I told them I would charge back the $30 and they gave a reply within 12 hours

Oh .. Dont Talk About This Company..
About me... I have a bad story with them...
On 2002-02-24 I bought a domain from them... and I received a confirmation email... and I entered the CP of my account and I tried to check the status of the domain... I saw that the domain has no been registered!! The Error: Unknown Error ... Status: Failed...
I tried to contact there support ... and there was no replay... I contacted them more than 2 times... without replay...
Then I tried to re-register the domain on 2002-02-26... And after I register it again... and I received the confirmation email... I logged in the control panel and checked the status of the order ... and I saw:
Status: Failed Error: Domain Is Registered
The domain that I tried to register is: i4a.ws
And today I checked http://www.godaddy.com and I checked i4a.ws and I received the following massage:
.WS domain names must contain at least 4 characters
That means that the problem was in the name of the domain... and the system is bad... because it didn't tell me about that and the system tried to register the domain ... and the support is worst...
I also not refer any body to register in this company

Earlier in this thread, I posted I never could get someone at registerfly to respond to my newbie questions. Well, just as others had said they closed the ticket without responding. Ok, I'm a glutton for punishment. Yesterday, I tried to preregister a .US name with them. I figure cheap cost maybe they don't respond to every newbie question lets give it a chance. I keyed in my domain name to preregister. I get the page to enter Credit Card info. Click to submit. I bounce back to the intial page asking if you want to preregister a .US domain. No error page. No confirmation page. No email confirmation. No mention of pending request in their domain manager. Yes, I opened another ticket. They promise 4-6 hour turn around. Yeah right! Nothing. I tried the online tech chat. Nothing but an email response error. Ok. I checked the registration info for registerfly and their parent/partner Unifiednames. I called the phone number. No live person. Just a menu directing you to each of their partner websites.
I'm checking my credit card company today to cancel any charge. This is the last time I'm dealing with them. I learned the hard way.
I'm in the process of checking out other registrars. I send them an email question before I register anything, just to see the type of support they provide. Directnic costs more but they responded very quickly to my question. I haven't seen any really negative posts either. They'll probably be my next registrar.
