sasl auth - login disabled


apart from recompiling sasl 2.1.15-6 with --enable-login is there any way to get the login authentication enabled?

linux fedora core1 using webmin thanks

in the sendmail.mc i have

dnl define(`confAUTH_MECHANISMS', `EXTERNAL GSSAPI DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN')dnl

dnl TRUST_AUTH_MECH(`EXTERNAL DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN')dnl

yet still no change! i have tried rebuilding sendmail.mc and restarting its like sasl dont listen to it.. is this how it should be? im just a newbi

im not to familer with with that..i would recomend using
exim with a mailscanner pretty easy to setup

alot of servers stoped using sendmail it self for reasons of security issue in it self..tho all the rest are clones of sendmail
seem to work better.too (just my 2cents tho)

maybe someone else can give ya a hand or checkout sendmails support?

its ok.. thanks anyway:-) the support is no help.. nore is support for sasl.. just tells you if u use it mke sure u no what you need.. but not how to do it.. grr

Please check config file. What same auth use - PAM or SASLDB ?

there seems to be no sasl config file! where should i look for it? it isnt in the list of files for sasl..
