Linux user can't login

I'm experiencing a little problem with one of the user accounts on my Fedora 1 server.

Say I have a regular user account named ABC, I used to be able to SSH in to my server using this account until one day I changed its password. I can no longer log in as this ABC user anymore.
I log in as root and change the password for this account many times but it still doesn't work.

The wierd thing here is I can log in as XYZ and su to ABC then I can log in as ABC. I just can't log in as ABC directly without logging as someone else first.

Anyone has any ideas?

Thanks,
Ben
It indicates that the password changed successfully.

It's even weider when I log in

Hi, anewcomer
Monitor /var/log/messages and /var/log/secure while attempting the login. The error messages logged there are usually very helpful in tracking down the specific problem.

Hil Brian,

I found the problem. For some odd reason the user wasn't in the AllowUsers list anymore...that's strange, I've never touched the ssh_config file though. It was working before I changed the password.

Anyway, I'm glad I fix the problem.

Kind regards,
Ben

I really don't know whether it's installed or not. What's libsafe for anyway?

Thanks

Thanks all for your answers. Libsafe looks like a good tool.
