How to set up https for a domain or subdomain with cpanel?
I have a shared hosting account that uses cpanel to manage the account. I wish to create a secure area of the web pages. I would expect to set up a subdomain configured to use https to access. Port 443 should be used and SSL certificates should be used. However in my control panel I do not find any options to enalbe port 443, https or SSL certificates. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Contact your host. It's not something you can do and an SSL cert is going to run you $50 along with what ever they want to bill you for a dedicated IP.

SSL will not run on a shared IP. Ok, sorry.. I take that back already.
But to install an SSL cert for a domain you need a dedicated IP address to use, that's just how SSL works. (It gets isntalled to the ip and so on)
An ip shouldnt cost you much more than $2-5 per month.
