My Review of www.ukwsd.com

I host the following website with http://www.ukwsd.com :

http://www.valleyofdreams.co.uk

I've been hosting with them for over a year now - I started off with one of there shared hosting accounts and just before Christmas signed up for a reseller package even though I do not resell I have a lot of domains and there 2GB package was Ideal for me.

Support - 10 out of 10

The support that Neil and Paul give is simply outstanding, whenever I have a question or just wanna whine they are very helpful and do whatever they can to help you. I had an issue with a script a few months back, Paul asked me to send him the script and set it up on one of his other servers for me to help troubleshoot - not many hosts do that these days.

Server Quality - 10 out of 10

Since moving to ukwsd our users have been impressed by the speed of access and how reliable the server is. The server isn't overloaded and i've always been made aware of any scheduled downtime.

Service - 10 out of 10

I don't pay a massive amount every month for my hosting and don't expect a lot but boy do they surpise you with service quality and the friendliness of both Neil & Paul make it easy to recommend many people to them as I have done to many friends and work colleagues.

You won't go wrong hosting your website with UKWSD.

If anyone has any questions i'd be glad to answer them - I hope this post is of some use to people looking for good hosting.

Hi Bantam

I also have been hosted by UKWSD for several months now and I have also found them to be quite reliable with good uptime. Not had much reason to contact tech support, but pre-sales questions were answered quickly. Plenty of features and excellent pricing. Would recommend.

Gary

A very well written review from a long time WHT member with a 1 year experience with the host. What more could we ask for?

Thank you very much Bantam!

Higher tax and living costs are two of the main factors that push the prices slightly higher in UK.

Another reason is the scale of customer base in UK. Companies in UK rely on fewer number of customers (mostly native) compared to those in US. This will in turn means companies in UK should genrally follow a different business model comapted to those in US.

You do find cheap hosting in UK if you look around enough.

It's not just greed! Believe me

I see. But I think UK web hosting companies need to change business model if they are talking about global market? Otherwise, their market will always be in the UK; and perhaps UK market will be penetarted by USA web hosting companies.

Having more customers doesn't necessarily mean more money and better service.

If fact, UK many companies have been successful to attract non-uk customer thanks to their higher pricing.

There are lots of advantages in high-price (not too high!) hosting and many customers realise that.

Of course, this doen't mean the more expensive the bettter.

I agree with you. In fact, your price for UK market is not that expensive based on average income per year in the UK.

Malaysia web hosting's price is damn expensive.
That is why I do not host my site in Malaysia.

I don't believe the UK market is expensive - I believe the US market under charge customers.

If you look at most UK companies and compare them to US companies you'll see that the UK host's offer a more realistic package.

I laugh when I see 2,000mb webspace and 65gb transfer for $6 - like your ever going to be able to use all that.

400 MB
16GB per month

They dont even get close to any USA systems for the same price.!

However unlike the rest of the world, we have trading standards, if they dont provide what they say they provide they will get a lot of trouble from the law.

Bandwidth in the UK is owned by very few at the top, EVERYONE has to buy from them. So everyone is charging triple the price of the US

2,000mb webspace and 65gb I use over that
