Question

Google Trying to take over?

Is it just me, or does anybody else get the feeling that Google will try to take over?

Just look at everything that they have and everything they are planning. And since their IPO they now have more money than ever. And they are not even charging for most of their products. Example: They are now giving out Picasa free. And that is a great program. Gmail? They give 1GB of free E-mail storage. While Yahoo gives you 100mb's, and Microsoft is planning on upgrading its crappy 2mb inboxes to 250mb's. Besides their planned internet browser, whats next?

What do you guys think about this?

Hopefully they have something like GIM (Google Instant Messanger) I'm sure that they'd come up with some ingenious way of displaying your messages or something.

The problem with instant messengers is that not everybody useses the same one. Some of my friends use Yahoo, some others use MSN, and whole lot of others use AIM. If GIM were multi-compatible, then cool.

Well, there are already Jabber <-> MSN, Jabber <-> AIM and Jabber <-> YIM gateways, so it wouldn't be impossible.

Man, I wish there was GIM or something like it. Googles has almost EVERYTHING except an instant messaging program. If google makes it compatible will all the other IM's out there then my hats of to them.

They are probably taking over but who cares? They give a lot of good free things and they help me with my hw everyday!

Google is an excellent company, I will support any product that they put out on the market, all the power to them.

Google browser? I'd be careful about that one. I think I'll stick with IE.

That'd be great if they made GIM and it was based of thier email like hotmail. I have one of the best gmail accounts for that! Well most here would like it, webhost.

Somebody going to patent GIM? Or shall I?
(Not that would ever work for obvious reasons)
I'd use Google products over anything else!
