1 thing i've not made clear for so long is y there are 3 sets of digits like "1.20 0.89 2.21" for load average, what's the meaning of each set?

do i simply take the sum and divid it by 3?

No.

1st section = 1 minute average load
2nd = 3 minutes average load
3rd = 15 (or 10?) minutes average load

The numbers represent how many processes awaiting to be processed with respect to the timeframe.

It's based on time manners and average of each time.

I think first one is the average of the last 5 minutes, the second is the average of the last 15 minutes and the third is the average of the last 30 minutes.

But don't take my word on that, I really can't remember the exact timings.
