hi

in my server(linux)
in ssh
when i say php file.php it works well

but when i say php file.php?variable=something

it doesnot recognise variable
how can i make it to use variable

How are you trying to read this variable ?

Regardless of your register_global setting in the php.ini file,
you should read it with

$variable = $_GET['variable'];

That's not valid command line syntax. Try reading "man php"
