DOTREGISTRAR Issues

Hello,

I bought a domain name from someone on ebay and they used DOTREGISTRAR to register the name prior to sale.

I want to transfer the name to Go Daddy and I have paid the $8.95 to make that happen.

It has been more than 60 days since it was created on DOTREGISTRAR and it is not close to expiring.

Here is the issue:

Go Daddy requires your email address to be listed in the admin field. DOTREGISTRAR formats the email address next to your name.

I have emailed DOTREGISTRAR to no avail and used their archaic domain management system to ensure everything is correct.

Any help on this one?

Here is what it looks like:

Registrant:
Patrick Grote (XXXXXXXXXXX-COM-DOM)
AddressXXXXXXXX
City, ST, ZIPXXXX
USA
PhoneXXXXXXXX
myemail@yahoo.com

Domain Name: XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Administrative Contact:
Patrick Grote myemail@yahoo.com
AddressXXXXXXX
City, ST, ZIPXXXXXX
USA
PhoneXXXXXXX

Notice that the myemail@yahoo.com is listed under registrant in the proper field, but under admin contact it is located on the same line as my name. Go Daddy needs it under ADMIN email.

Can anyone give me any advice or help on this one?

Thumbs down

Well, if you haven't waited at least two weeks for them to respond to your email don't give up yet. No really, I'm serious. 2 weeks is my average response time from their support dept. I nearly had a heart attack any time I got one in less time (though still over a week usually).

They suck!

Well ...

I did that and the transfer was initiated by Go Daddy. DOTREGISTRAR received the transfer request.

A week after asking Dotregistrar for help I finally got an email from their support folks saying that they can't help me because the name is with Go Daddy now.

Interesting, because I never received a successful transfer from Go Daddy.

The website still works and you can ping it, but the WHOIS shows no entry.

I go to Go Daddy to manage names and it isn't under my name yet.

I also go to Go Daddy's WhoIs and it shows they have it now.

I go to Dotregistrar's WhoIs and it shows they still have it. :-)

So ... I guess I am between registrars ;-)

The propagation of whois data is never on par with the transfer of a domain.

Go to internic.net and use their whois to find out who the registry of record is.

If it's godaddy, and you cannot edit your info yet, ask them to fix that.

Yep ... I am just going to wait until the end of the day and see what happens.

If you go directly to Go Daddy's WhoIs it shows that they are the registrar.

Thanks!
