Well.... while I think they were a bit quick to suspend your site, on the other hand after their email telling you to read the welcome email, which what you should have done was to tell them you didn't have it or maybe you changed your password or something.... not everybody can solve a support issue with 1 email so i'm not quite sure where your "thanks for nothing" comment is coming from.... However I'm also not sure why they deemed that necessary to add to your notes and then inform you that it was added........... So i'd say both parties went overboard on this one.

    Both as bad

I dont agree with either party here. You should always compose yourself in a proffesional way, weather you are a customer or supplier. If you had done this then you would be able to say with respect that you were treated un-fairly and you wouldnt need to question if you were out of order. Also they should have replied by saying they are there to help and appologised if you feel upset with the support given.

from what i can see in your original e-mail you told them your FTP program had crashed and you had lost the password, he was then telling you that you could check your e-mail for the password as it may be in your history or inbox.

At no point did you state that you had lost all of your e-mails.

I feel that you were wrong in your response by stating "thankyou for nothing" i feel you should have responded with something more like:

"unfortunately you may have misunderstood my situation, I do not have any way of retrieving my password and would be grateful if you could re-send the username and password details to the account which was used when I originally signed up"

You became irate too quickly when the technician was unable to answer your question.

Hope this clears things up, I dont like to blame things on the user in most cases but you did get irate rather quickly where you could have replied in a much more civial manner to clarify your situation.

What more current emails the only current emails is answering your requests

which now suddenly you have now said that you will not.
So you can now add lieing to the heavy handed and poor customer service.

    Opinion:
If the aim was to get back into the account, instead of sending, "thank you for nothing" you should have sent something similar to the above message. If the aim was to be rude and get your account disabled, then you should have sent what you sent. Believe it or not, these are people. Some of them answer 200 emails a day and get paid $8/hr. or less even to do it.

    To answer your question...

Yes, I feel you were out of order and would apologize.

Is reading this infuriating anyone else? Especially this one:

    Thanks for your e-mail.

We are not happy with your conduct and the nature of more current e-mails sent by yourself.

If you wish to discuss this you should contact our Managing Director, who has been informed of the event and has a copy of all e-mails, at the following address: *********

Please get in touch if you require any further help.
Considering the tone of the rest of the e-mail, I reckon these two lines make it sound rather condescending.

As for what you probably should have done, I'd be agreeing with xtstrike. You did jump to accusing them of being unhelpful without actually explaining to them why their response was so. Assuming a misunderstanding between the two of you in the first place, without the need to blame either side, could well have avoided this mess.

Thats the comment that pissed me off and yes i may of been rude but look of some of the emails they sent me i mean one of them makes no sense..

Any company weather on the Internet or not would not accept "u can stick
    > the
    > > tone of my email up your arse for all i care." - you can not work with
    > other
    > > companies and in this way and we find your language offensive.

I mean i know they may be low paid but a slight grasp of the english language would help.

Personally i think it hilarious i paid peanuts for the hosting and clearly got monkeys in return

Clearly it was your loss not theirs. This was probably a bad place to post this, since a very large number of web hosters read these forums. Good luck in your search for a new one. Or hey, why not start your own company with your excellent communication skills!

    Krondor,

Yes, you absolutely deserved this treatment. You lobbed hostile shot after hostile shot at this guy, and he was nothing but dispassionate, collected, and professional in return.

You were little else but rude, and if you have an ounce of respect for yourself, you'll feel ashamed for how you behaved.

That's all there is to it.

I think it would be much more interesting to hear you explain how the messages are unprofessional. I read nothing but civility.

    Civility responded to with hostility.

1 email actually makes no sense
Of course I assume you're referring to the "weather" line. Clearly, you had less an interest in civil discussion than in starting a petty fight over spelling issues.

You ought to thank them for their patience.

Besides, based on the tone of your posts, I find it difficult to believe you are old enough to hold a credit card with which to purchase any kind of webhosting services. You ought to be thankful you got away with it.

If u believe that weather is the only mistake in that email i suggest you read it again.

Your entitled to your opinion and thanks for your view point though i personally believe it to be flawed.

I admit i was rude and that was wrong and for that i apologised..

but i do believe they dealt with the matter very heavy handedly and not really proffesionally that is just my opinion...

Taking into perpective what i said. i used no swear words and there reaction was totally over the top in my opinion.
Then they seemed unable to come to a descision people you may side with the host but i think the average person will not be to impressed with how supanames deal with an irate customer.

I would suggest that when dealling with a company in the future you take the following into consideration.

    1. The hosting company is protecting your account from someone sending support an email asking for a password without any verification who the customer is. I would certainly hope that any company would not hand out a password so easily without some form of verification.

    2. In the future, the best thing you can do if you loose a password is call the hosting company. They will ask you a few questions much like any other service company and then happily give you the information

    3. Profesionals never respond to a message to a message with the tone that you used. As someone stated above, you should have taken the high road to this and been like "maybe you misunderstood me."

    *Please Note*

Even though your process was wrong, the company in my opinion should not have suspended your account, but contacted you and said "we understand you need your password" and given it to you over the phone.

But I would suggest next time, don't loose it.

    Just my opinion though

I'm curious. How many other companies here have received emails that have been much too strong for the situation? And whether they also have in their terms and conditions about cancelling an account if someone rights an "abusive" email.

Sometimes an email can be interpretted in the wrong way. What would they do then?

By the way weather is to do with the climate.. I think you mean "whether".

If I were the host, I would have replied by giving you your password or by asking you what you wanted your password changed to after verfying your identity. "Thankyou for nothing" was quite rude. If I were you, I would have replied by notifying them that I didn't have the setup e-mail. "The tone of your e-mail has been noted on your account notes for future reference." was just wrong in my opinion. They shouldn't tell you things like that. If I were the host, I would have replied by stating that I was sorry I was unable to help and by asking what I could do to help. Although "You can stick the tone of my email up your arse for all i care." was rude, I really don't think they should have suspended your account at that point. Also, you have the audacity to point out his grammar mistake when your replies contain much more spelling and grammar errors. I think both of you could have handled the situation better.

thanks for the laugh....i nearly emptied myself everywhere !! lol....

problem with the web is, people have a lot more face....you wouldnt talk to somebody like that face to face....but then again, you would probably get a bit more help elsewhere without getting that patronised!!
