Transferring accounts via WHM???

Hi all.

You may remember I tried to transfer an account from one dedicated server to another through WHM and Transfers. The problem is it didn't work.

Does anyone know how to do this as I have run out of ideas?

All I need to do is effectively copy my ONE website from my old dedicated server to the new one. The site is based on cPANEL but I just don't know how to do it.

If someone can do this for me (preferably a host with some experience) I would really appreciate it. The site is around 10gigs in size and it just needs copying over asap as I don't want to pay for another months access for my old server which is due shortly.

Cheers - Dav

Do this in SSH
/scripts/pkgacct username
After that FTP to /home of your new server and restore it.

Hello,

Another easy way to do it is to access the account you want to move with cpanel and do a full backup of the site using the cpanel backup feature (but instead of home directory select ftp and enter the ftp info for your an account on your new dedicated server).

Then when you get the email that it's done (if you entered your correct email info for notification). Log into you new server via SSH and go to the account that you had entered info for in the cpanel backup feature. Then type:
cp backupfilename.tar.gz /home

Make sure to enter the real file name.

Then access WHM and go to "restore a full backup/cpmove file" all you have to do is enter the username of the account you are restoring and it will do the rest for you.

It's very easy and it is very reliable.

Good Luck

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the tips but I think I know what has happened.

I just checked WHM/Cpanel on my old dedicated server and it seems WHM/Cpanel licence has expired hence not being able to copy the files over via WHM to WHM.

I guess this basically means I cannot transfer any data over unless I somehow renew my licence (even though the licence came with my server from angelnetworkz.net)?

Cheers - Dav

Any ideas on how to copy the site across when I haven't got access to WHM/Cpanel on my old server anymore?

That should be a good feature for cPanel Root's backdoor

I'm not too sure if I have SSH

Can anyone just look into it if I give out my IP/root password for both servers (preferably a hosting company). I am willing to pay a small sum if a host can move my account over from one server to the other.

Please help!

Cheers - Dav

Is this a managed.com server? (angelnetworkz?)

I read a thread that someone got a 3 days emergency license provided by cPanel. Try contacting cPanel and see if they could issue that.

Hi UltraUnixNet,

Just contacted cpanel today and stated that I was with AN and they just wanted to know the IP of my server so they may issue me an emergency licence shortly. Thanks for the tip

Cheers - Dav
