Making sure a person will pay?

Hi,

I am new to hosting my own banner ads, and I was wondering how am I able to be 100% that after a month for a banner of adviews, the person will actually pay without just bailing on me and just ignoring me? I currently use PHPAdsNew and I use paypal for the payments.

I want to be sure I don't get cheated.

Thanks.

Kind of hard with paypal considering the person can simply cancel his/her subscription. The only way i can possably see you being 100% sure is if the client owns multiple accounts. Lets take dedicated servers for example. If the client has 4 of them with you, but dose not pay for one. Then you can simply shut down the rest of his servers forcing him to forfit them over to you. Of course you will have to make the customer aware of this before they purchase.

Use something like "prepayment". Maybe it works for you.

Prepayment, most of them adopt. coz there are a lot of fraud people around to cheat. so to preserve safety accept prepayment.

If they won't accept pre-payment, don't accept their order.

At least, that is my two cents. Some customers aren't the kinds of customers you want and you have to be wary of folks who want something for nothing or don't want to prepay.

If they don't except the prepaid sounds like they are just trying to scam you.

Yes, I never came accross a site that would accept payment afterwards. I always pay the number of impressions I want BEFORE they get active.

Most things are pre-paid. I mean - you get your telephone bill at the beginning of the month, you get your hosting billing at the beginning of the month, etc. If you advertise in the yellow pages, you pay for it even before it is printed. So why should the banner advertising be any different?

Once you have shown their banners for that month, they could always say they did not get enough hits, customers, etc. Make them pre-pay.

Some payment processor alow you to do client autentication (something like $0 payment), so you will be sure that your client at least have Credit Card.
