I am using Filezilla ssh and have a question

Hi,
I am using filezilla to try and backup my server. If I log into the server and just download ALL files and folders to my harddrive using filezilla. Will this be a good backup source?

I would like to back up the entire server in case something happens, I have all of the config already setup as well as a good backup of the sites.

Please talk human.. I am a newbie

If you're downloading the files via the FTP account used to upload the files in the first place then you should be fine. The easiest way to make sure is to set up a "fake" site with all the files you downloaded.

Do you mean logging in as root and downloading everything? example /etc /bin /usr etc. ? Or do you just mean a user home directory (example /home/username/* )

I was talking about pulling it all down actually. I know from what I have read that you can download the \home and all sites this way.. I was actually referring to the whole server...
