American Chopper - TV Show
Has anyone here seen the American Chopper television show on the Discovery Channel? I'm fascinated by the show. The feel of a family-operated business and the chemistry (and lack thereof occasionally) between them is interesting.
And then the way they produce the choppers, absolutely amazing to me. In a weird way, it has inspired me to do all I can to make my business profitable.
Although the two industries are different (manufacturing and web hosting), the bottomline is still the same: providing something to someone in exchange for a profit.
It's a great show..excellent humor as well, and the best part is it's real humor, and to some extent, reminds me of my own family.
Regards,
Waylon

Yeah, I really love the show, and I'm not a huge mechanical buff or anything. Good show

Ya, I always watch this show, it's awesome. When they are building the choppers they make it look so easy, but it's actually really hard and you need the right tools. But, the only thing I don't like about these guys is how everythings not built by them, they get it from other companys around them. Jesse James is pretty good too.

Actually, I was just watching it (although reruns).
We watch it whenever we can remember to tune in.

I've been to the OCC shop (not inside) and went to their newly opened store recently. Have yet to meet any of the family or employee's in person.
As for skill or who makes what. Doesn't matter to me. All bike builders get the thumbs up in my book! And let's not forget "Indian Larry" who passed away one week ago today.

I LOVE that show along with Monster Garage. Watch it all the time. I will be getting a Bourget's Magnum Fat Daddy within the next 6 to 8 months. I have been eyeing these bikes for a few years now. Bourget's is one of the best custom bike shops around.

Indian Larry, Motorcycle Builder and Stunt Rider, Dies at 55
Mr. White said Indian Larry, wearing a protective suit but not a helmet, was standing on his bike as he went down the parking lot in a crowd-pleasing routine and may have been blinded by the sun; he fell and hit his head.
Larry Desmedt was born in Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. His wife, Bambi, and Mr. White described him as a lone wolf, who was a familiar figure to fans across the country but never joined a motorcycle gang. He was known among bikers as a metal sculptor and highly skilled mechanic.
It was not a particularly dangerous maneuver he performed on Saturday, Bambi Desmedt said. "It was showing off, his way of blowing off steam after the bigger stunts," she added, "winding down."

Indian Larry use to come down to Tampa all the time. Tampa has a huge biker community.
He died on August 30th.

I love American Chopper as well, there is a ezboard forum all about them. Vinnie from AC stops by once in a while and his brother stops by more frequently.
