game server help
i was wondering would this be ok to run a few 10 man private servers, they will never be 20 users on at all the time ...
spec is
duron 1800
256mb ram
?

I personally wouldnt suggest it, but it may work out for you. I would at least add more ram to it.
I would go with at least a P4 2.4

Possible with a lot of tweaking. The 256MB of ram will attempt to kill you, then the duron will finish the job.

You may squeek by, i'd look for a better CPU/ram combo and ditch the idea of upgrading ram.

What kind of game are you running? I am running several DF2 dedicated servers on dual 800MHz PIII'swith 512MB of ram with no problem...

It depends a lot on the game but, unless the game is Quake 1, you'll need the 512 of RAM (possibly more for the newest games). Durons don't multi-task very well, so 2 full 10-player servers should hold, but 4 games with 5 each will not. Map changes are especially hard on single-proc systems.
The P4 2.4 (the lowest with HyperThreading) is a good suggestion.Game Servers are the next hot market!
