    Note

    Just noting that the Xeon server uses HT (Hyperthreading) so it has two physical CPUs.

    Nevertheless, I would go with the opterons.

    and the opterons are 64bit cpus..where xeon is 32bit

    And the optertron has a much larger cache, it gives a big advantage on calcluations / databases.
