Half-life 2 available for preloading
Half-life 2 is available for preloading through Steam this afternoon. But the server has been overloaded ever since. Maybe I can get it tomorrow.
And then play right when it's available, hehe.

Very Nice. I was actually sent a copy of Counter-Strike: Source via email through steam. Valve provided me with a cd key code to give it a tryout. I haven't used it yet, but i'm told its based on the Half-Life 2 engine, but its Counter-Strike.

hmmmm question is, will it be any better than Doom3? I can't wait to give Counter Strike a chance if it ever comes to HL2 ofcourse..

The half-life 2 engine for Counter-Strike already is out, but I believe its for HL2 Vouchers and Press only. I can't clarify, but the only reason why I got a CS: Source beta was due to falling under "press" release.

Too bad I can't see HL2, I'd pay for it and download it in a heartbeat.

Where do you input the HL2 Voucher Activation code once you get it? From the ATI XT cards?

I got the Counter-Strike: Source beta because I fall under the category of "Press" due to my gaming network. I have the email below that Valve sent my email.
Quote:
Kerry,
We'd like to invite you to join the Counter-Strike: Source beta.
If you already have a Steam account, open your "Play Games" menu, then
select "Browse Games," select the "Register a product I already own" tab and
enter the key below.
*****-******-****-*****-*****
If you do not have a Steam account, please visit www.steampowered.com,
create a new account and enter your beta key when prompted.
Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback.
Regards.

I am not a gamer, but any stretch of the imagination, but I have played HL2 and must say, I was pretty impressed with it. It still has a lot of bugs (a bit more than I would be comfortable with, releasing the the masses) but the graphics and performance are pretty darn impressive.
