CMS Integration

Is there a way to integrate certain aspects of a CMS without actually having your ENTIRE site based on the CMS? there are certain aspects of some CMS's that I'd like to integrate but I don't want to base my entire site on a CMS...is there a way to do this...just take certain aspects of it and use it?

You could probably do this my fooling around with the template stuff - look at a pre-made template to see what code makes what happen, and put the bits you want into your own template, which would probably be based on a custom design that you've made.

Just an idea. There's probably more complicated ways involving editing the code that would take out the thinks you don't want both in the control panel and for the user (whereas editing the template would only change the display for the user).

And with so many CMS's out there, it's possible there's one, somewhere, that has exactly what you want.

Hmm, I see.

Someone who knew what they were doing could probably seperate it without too much trouble, but unless you know how (or know someone else who can do it), it'd probably be best to see if there's a non-CMS games database that does what you want. Or, like I said before... I guess you could always make it appear to be its own thing with the style, although that seems a bit sloppy, when you think about it.

CMS are more like a collection of scripts, usually found in comunity driven sites. HOWEVER. those scripts should be available for free all over the Internet .. ie: a blog, a forum, a poll .. etc
