That is odd. I have some experience with Pleask 7 on FC1, but not on windows. Could it be an option that you selected?

As it copied apache to your drive and is using IIS, it's for sure that Plesk supports both of them. Apache was installed and not running, it's OK, probably it haven't configured anything for apache but just copied it to your disk. The thing that seems odd is that you haven't given an option for choosing what webserver you like to use.
Actually Plesk forums are more appropriate for this thread.

We dont use Plesk for Windows but I believe the Plesk7 interface itself uses Apache. Sites are served via IIS.

gilbert and NVarra are correct.
Apache is installed to run on Port 8443 for Plesk. It allows it to use seperate versions of PHP, etc...
Also, this means if IIS goes down, you still have access to Plesk.

Fine, it means that Plesk doesn't support apache for the users' websites. IMO, they should better use IIS for the control panel website also as it is an extra overhead that a webserver which serves only one website is running on your systems.

If you are running a single website, what's the point of Plesk? In windows I wouldn't even have a control panel for a single site. And actually the overhead is lower than it would be under IIS.

Actually I am referring to the fact that I came to know here that Plesk uses apache for windows to serve Plesk control panel website where the user's websites are created under IIS. It means that both the webservers would be running (definitely apache would be running on some port other than 80) when you'll be using Plesk. I consider it an extra overhead.

Actually, Plesk has integrated and built apache so well that, as I said, it uses less overhead than it would running under IIS. On average on one of our servers with 100 clients it uses 0 for CPU and about 10MB of ram.

No. Besides, it is "Windows". If you want to run Apache I recommend using a linux box. Windows is best suited to serve sites around IIS. If you say "Windows Hosting" and can't offer full ASP support and other IIS only features you will get a lot of disgruntled customers.

Yes you are right. I just wanted to know if there's an option to choose between apache and IIS in Plesk. Thanks.
