GoDaddy is spamming again

It's True. We've Got a Smoking Deal on Domain Names. Get your domain name for only $8.95 per year (.com, .net, .org). That's almost 75% off the suggested retail price. More than 30,000 names are registered each day. Get your name before someone else does! If your name is taken, use our search feature to find a name.

Check Availability:

Domain Search: .com.net.org.info.biz.ws

Domain Names give you a presence on the web. Combine that with a personalized email and voila!
YourName@Your-Name-Goes-Here.com

Why pay $35, $25, or even $15 for your Registration when you could pay $8.95/yr and lower (.com,.net,.org)? You can transfer your existing domain name to GODADDY.COM for only $8.95(.com,.net,org). Try to beat that price anywhere! No added fees(included a one-year registration). Once you've transferred your domain names to GODADDY.COM, you can renew them for as low as $6.95/yr. We've made it easy for you. No paperwork, no hassles. If you're paying more for your domain name registration, ACTNOW!

Go Daddy is an ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) accredited domain registrar.

So, you help them advertise it here?

Why you post it here and spam this board?

There are a lot of companies that are now doing this.

If you have a contract with VeriSign to use their domain list, you cannot use it for SPAM.

Anyone doing so will not be allowed to download future data files from VeriSign.

Can you prove that GoDaddy has used the list they received from VeriSign for SPAM? I can't. But I sure suspect they did, becuase I have received email from them as well - with information they could only have mined from whois, on an obscure domain that isn't even linked anywhere. Where do you find out about this domain? In the files from VeriSign...

If you really want to make them stop, you'll have to report them to VeriSign and pray.

Oh Come On.

A lot of them are sending out unsoliscited emails now.

GODADDY IS A VERY REPUTABLE COMPANY.

Everytime someone knicks their finger, they come here
and post these piddly things.

This is getting tiresome.

Certainly, if by "reputable" you mean that they have a reputation for spamming.

But I do agree that it's kind of pointless to post a report of every domain name registration related spam here -- if for no other reason than that there are too many of them to keep up with.

The reality is that it's the big guys who get away with it, and the little guys who get stomped...

Personally, I think too many people complain about spam all the time. I get spam every single day and I just delete it. What difference does it make to complain about it? It still keeps coming.

^Kyo,

I use aol for my e-mail and I get tons of it everyday. Plus I usually turn other AOL people in that send me spam crap yet I don't think AOL does anything about it, because I still get it.
