Port Speed

Can someone tell me if it would be necessary or worth $10/month to upgrade the port speed uplink from 10 to 100?

Depends on what you're doing.. Would you ever burst over 10 Mb/s?? If so, then it may be useful.

It's a lot more than $10 if you server gets hit by a large flood in the absence of an active network monitoring team.

Jay's right,
Would you rather pay for a DOS attack on a 100mbs port or a 10mbs port?

Granted, as long as you have good monitoring you should be able to detect an attack regardless of port speed, but many don't and a 10mbs port helps "patch" this problem.

If your site is a high traffic site then go ahead. It's just $10 so I would do it.
