NO, we're actually in the middle of installing/testing some new firewall hardware...

There will be a series of minor outages tonight on the older/non-vlan portion of our network...including our own internal servers.

This is necessary to put an end to the ddos/flood issues we randomly experience. We are making an effort to further improve our network.

Any notification for this scheduled downtime? Its always better to notify clients before performing anything that cause extensive of downtime.

Thursday night is our scheduled maintenance night, both for announced and unannounced tasks. Usually we announce such maintenance, but in this instance it was not known when exactly such would occur.

We felt it best however, to begin work on installing the new gear as quickly as possible.

FYI - We have not been down as much for this as you might be thinking. Alot of the ICMP responses are blocked right now, so you may be thinking we are down, or thinking there is packet loss, when there really is not. Try connecting via different ports other than ping/traceroute.

Also, only 10% of our network is affected by this work tonight--the older/non-vlan portion of our network.

There was not a 3 hour outage. We had approximately 30 minutes total, spread out from midnight EDT until 4:30 AM EDT. This also only affected legacy non-vlan customers. I apologize if it affected you, but hopefully it leads to a more stable network for you.
