Uptime


I was looking to get a uptime script where custmers can see our uptime, %, and how manytimes the server has ping timedout.

I am working on a script like that. The beta version of it is available at: http://uptime.mdangelo.com

I haven't added any uptime % graphs or similar things yet, but I will get to it. If you need some sort of functionality added to it, let me know.

Alertra is a good site for showing your uptime and really inexpensive.

I would like to include it on my site, not a remote site. Also free would be better as it is a very simple script im sure :p

You could always try Nagios or siteuptime.com if you want a finished one that is free.

after 20 min of work to get it working, it works, but doesnt show a % uptime, am i missing something?

For a percentage you'd most likely need a third party company such as alertra.

If your server isn't functioning, I don't see a way it can efficiently log it's own downtime.

if it pings www.yourservername.com
because if it is down it wont be able to ping it!
