How To Start A Hosting Business Book

Greetings,

I just logged into WHT this morning and noticed a news headline that mentioned that a new book on "how to start a hosting business" came out:

http://www.hostingtech.com/?m=show&id=335

What do you think about this?

Boris

I've seen a few on Amazon a while back; never bought any of them so now idea on how good they are, but I don't think that there are many available.

Hey there Flumps,

Maybe not - There are a few available from Amazon. And there is only so much a book can teach you; the majority of things, no matter what type work, you learn from personal experience.

Also, even if the book picks up and there are many more webhosts, it doesn't necessarily mean that we will see more. WHT isn't the be all and end all for web hosting.

I think it's nice that there is a book now - When I started there wans't one, as far as I'm aware, and I'm sure there weren't when many other people started, but of course that can be a good thing. You learn more for yourself, and rely less on books and so on. How good would it be for a system admin to pull out a book each time he needed to do something for your server?

I wonder, does that book mention Web Hosting Talk or any other hosting discussion forum?

Books like this with "easy" ways to become self-employed and make money on the net, is only going to throw more uneducated people in the field of web hosting into the market causing more problems than good IMO.

To start a hosting biz, you might want to go 'incognito' for a while

just spam a few hosting forums with i am an idiot please help questions....there are plenty of kind souled people who will answer your questions. It never fails especially if you use a sweet and sexy user name and pose as a dumb sweet young woman who wants to learn hosting.
