FindMyHosting.com What's the Deal?

Any ideas or insights are most appreciated

I have been attempting to get our company listed into the FindMyHosting.com resource for over a year now. To become a "Host Assured" host you have to first have a FindMyHosting.com login. Yet when I go to the host sign up link, I see

"We are currently not accepting requests from hosts to join the system. We envisage we will accept login requests again in early 2005 Note : If you already have a login request pending then you will receive a login to the system in due course"

Well, that login request has been there since last year and I cant submit it again. We are a reputable and honest company and have been in the business for over 8 years. I believe we have earned at least a review and consideration.

I have sent many emails to FindMyHosting.com and none are answered. I understand that sometimes people go on to other ventures. Anyone know how to reach the owner other than what is listed in the whois?

While it may not seem like much and it is only one directory, many people here at WHT and other places often refer host seekers to that site and I would like to have our company listed as well.

Anyone have any comments or solutions to share?

Personally, I don't like them much. On their forums the administrator of the whole place has like 2 posts. It seems the place is abandon most of the time, and the guy is living off the 15% commission on every hosting plan sold via Findmyhosting.

I can give you my login if you so desprately want it... I never set anything up. PM me.

I see that there is a fairly recent host interview dated Friday, July 02, 2004 on the site at http://www.findmyhosting.com/intervi...ew.asp?id=7762 so someone is there working with the site.

I searched back on WHT and read many post where this has been an issue since last year. It would seem to me that if they are doing well off the commissions then they would want good quality and experienced hosts to be listed in order to increase revenue even more.

Thanks Dan, I have PM'd Andrew (NovaW) and hopefully will get a response on this soon.

And thanks Neill for offering the login. As you stated in a PM to me, one cannot change the domain or company name there. I appreciate your trying.

Best Wishes for a .Net Success!

We have looked into them but I don't like their site very much and the way it works.

Most of these directories "recommend" hosts based on who pays the higest referral fees.
