How long til' a domain is "off-hold"?

I am waiting a domain that's is supposed to be registed by dotster. But doster's whois show no match. I used deleteddomains.com and found that the domain has been "on-hold" since 12/11.

Any one know how long it will remain "on hold"?

Thanks,

Peter

I think there is a 45 grace period, then it gets queued to be dropped which can take a few days to week-ish, so sometime around then. Wouldn't it be nice (and goodness, almost common sense?), to have a standard procedure for this. I hate when things are run as if no one has ever had to do it before.

Every Registrar has their own process here. I don't know what Dotster's practice is, and I could not find anything on their website.

You might want to contact them directly and see when they will drop the name - or offer to register it immediately through them...
