Is HostVoice right for me?

Hi,
In this thread I'd like to hear from some people who have used HostVoice (are .com and .net the same thing?) and see if my company would be right for their services. Please visit my site (adeptwebhosting.com) and check to see if you think that I can obtain my goal of 10 clients for a $150 investment. Any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your help!

Cool

I guess shopping there is OK. But what do you really want to know? You could post your requirements in a request for quote here.
I don't understand your "plan" @ $150 since 10 clients at your top $9.95 plan ($99.50) would leave you $50.50 "in the red" every month.

Well, you can't expect to pay $9.95 to get a customer that is paying you $9.95 per month. I want this to pay off in the long run and not just after one month...

I used hostvoice back in the fall, and I didnt get a single customer from my $150 investment. I had auto responders set up like they suggested, with special reduced rate plans for Hostvoice customers only. I also personally emailed/responded to every request. I had about 5-10 potential customers respond back to my emails and discussed hosting over several emails. But none of them signed up.

IMHO, Hostvoice doesnt work. It just promotes cutthroat pricing between 5-7 hosts that are all competing for the same customer. In the end the one with the lowest prices wins.

Thanks for the post amish_geek, would you suggest any other form of advertisment? Preferably online but I would be open to hearing some local possibilities also. Thanks!

I've tried HostVoice twice with about $200 and no results. I agree with amish_geek -- HostVoice doesn't really work very well.

I just signed up the other night for colo and dedicated server sales.

Colo isn't too bad...but there aren't very many of those leads coming in at all.

Alot of dedicated leads, but they are the kinds of leads we don't generally follow. They tend to want ALOT of server/bandwidth...but their budgets are "under 100". There were a couple of promising leads - but I think we were undercut in price because I never heard back from them.

This morning I added "unix" hosting to our lead categories. I really didn't sign up for HostVoice to sell Cpanel hosting accounts...but I'm hoping to avoid having the $200 investment being a complete waste.

I still have about $150 left in our HostVoice account - I will try and keep you posted.

Its the same with just about every host quote service you try. Its even worse with shared hosting. They often want as much bandwidth and diskspace as possible for $1/year or something ridiculous like that. (i haven't tried host voice, but a lot of host quote services generate leads of that quality)

I figured with the colo/dedicated server leads, I'd only need to make 1 sale to make it worth it. We'll see. I still have $150 worth of leads to be delivered.

I had the same results as others... invested $50 and got 50 leads, responded to ALL of them personally within minutes of it coming in and never once even got a reply back from a single person. Needless to say i did not put any more money in my account.

Not very worthwhile

Got next to nothing back for our $$.

Looks like they "churn" a lot - I think the limit of a few hosts in each category is more to create a false sense of exclusivity and lure potential advertisers.

They still seem to get more than their share of potential buyers wanting everything for almost nothing.

There is nothing in their approach that insures potential buyers will ever respond to you - they will still get 5 to 10 emails from your competition and may choose to not buy from anyone.
