You want to rent a server IN ThePlanet DC, or FROM ThePlanet themselves? There are many companies that colocate at the TPDC, for instance, LayeredTechs. There are also many resellers of ServerMatrix and TP, even of LT.

Why not get the servers directly from ThePlanet since they provide dedicated servers too.

Yes, I would second the question of Eddy. There are many alternatives for getting a cheap server:

1. ServerMatrix
2. LayeredTechnologies
3. Angelnetworkz with their pay one get one more
4. Other TP and LT resellers.

Yet none of the above alternatives will offer you the power and server management level of a TotalControl 2800. If there is a pay for quality price, you dollar will buy most quality and quantity directly from TP.

If you can manage $225 every month, go for TC 2800. One dollar will buy you 10 GB BW, 5 Mb RAM, 1 GB HDD, and 50 Ghz CPU.

well there are a few companies that colocate at the planet. the ones i know of are

1. LT (layeredtech)
2.SM (servermatrix)
3.TS (tomsyer)

could be more but i dont think so. think other companies just resell of these guys lol.

Tomsyer colocate their machines in ThePlanet facilities but do not offer ThePlanet's servers. SM is the entry level business of ThePlanet and uses the entry level servers. Angelnetworkz resells SM servers. But none of them does that for ThePlanet's servers as they seems to be exclusively handled by ThePlanet.

Remember that although you may get a slightly lower fees with a reseller, you be giving up directly support from ThePlanet for your servers. So make sure you select your reseller wisely since you be depending on them for all the tech support. Some are good because they provide some value-added which may not come with the TP plans. While others may just be a one-person business which provides almost no support and may disappear for long breaks and unreachable 24/7.

Except for the LT servers. And here comes the big difference between servers "IN ThePlanet" and "OF ThePlanet". Especially when you deal with LT resellers. Not recommended at all.

I would recommend you just go with one of ServerMatrix's Sales at the Moment, with their lowered Monthly Price, and Free Set-Up. It's a good deal....or you could just go with another company reselling or co-lo'ing. But, if you want a good server, with good service, at a good price - I think that's the best way to go, right now.
