Wonder if this is the right place to ask this question, but I have a question, Im wonder if there is any open source software that allows people to host email, like those that powered hotmail, gmail etc.

There's always hivemail but I don't believe it's open source.
Not too expensive, though.

I don't also think that there's an OpenSource software for this purpose.

hivemail is about $130 for a unsupported license. Was wondering if there is a cheaper alternative

there is a plugin for squirrelmail that makes it with signup script

there is also @dot mail software

SQwebmail can work fir Qmail and few plug-ins todo this too
