Help! I need a host provider that will accept a check. I could go with a free host but I don't like the flashy advertising (some is just barely legal).

Many times a hosting company actually accepts a check or money order. You just need to email them before so that they're able to give you the address. They will also likely wait until the check has arrived and has been cashed to activate your hosting account.

Contact the host directly as we can, so should others.

You might have to email a host to ask about check payment.
You could also use host quote feature above and request check payment through it.
Normally though your account would not be setup until your check arrived.

You can use the host quote link on the top to receive hosting offers from various hosts and just make sure the credit card issue is mentioned in the comment section.....
Good Luck

Try to find one in your local area. This way you can just drop a check off to them. www.google.com has the local search option this may help. This way you do not have to wait until the check arrives then gets deposited and clears.

Yeah, it shouldn't bee too hard to find a host that takes checks, a lot of us also use ACH payments, which are basically checks, but the host can process them like credit cards. It makes it easy for us and our clients.

well, evidently something about my last reply must have been questionable... so i'll rephrase:
many hosts accept checks. find a host that accepts "e-checks". this way, you don't actually have to physically send a check... but rather enter your checking account info much like a credit card.

Almost any reputable hosting company will accept checks or money orders. Echecks are really helpful as well. Look at their sites and most will say so during the sign up process. Some will wait for the check to clear, others will go ahead and set up your account in advance. We prefer to set up accounts as soon as check payments arrive. If the check bounces or is no good, then we contact customer for alternative payment such as a money order or Western Union. Of course if there are NSF fees these must be paid by the customer.
Best Wishes for a Net Success!

If you have a U.S. bank account then MOST hosts will accept your check -- as they can process it online. You just enter the data from your check on teh payment page. Fast and easy!
