Nameserver'

Hey everyone,

I have a domain which some people used for their nameservers a long time ago, since then the ip's and nameservers have changed and the domain is now useless.

I tried to delete this domain in directi and it is giving me an error saying the domain's nameserver's are linked to other domains.

Is there a way that i can do a tracert kind of thing to show who is using the nameservers on the domain i own?

As this is really annoying as i cant delete the domain.

Cheers

Chris.

Are you saying directadmin? You may need to login ssh and take care of the domain. Do a search on www.google.com this works well and has solved many problems.

No i am saying that the domain is in Directi (domain registra)

I am trying to delete the domain / manually expire it and it is telling me other people are using it for their nameservers.

But i cant find out who is using them to tell them to change nameservers.

you need to have access to the zone files of the registry for com/net/org/info/biz and grep your nameserver toward those files.

each registry has zonefiles and i think its free.

try asking domain related forums for someone who has access already to grep your nameserver toward those files
