Fortunately, about a year ago, someone clued me into ReadyHosting.com. They are extremely inexpensive and offer quite a few features for the money. I figured they couldn't be any worse than SiteHosting for support and was pleased to discover that they were actually quite a bit better. Overall I'd rate them OUTSTANDING - for the money. .
To replace SiteHosting.net, however, we decided on hostmysite.com. I called their toll-free number and was surprised to have a real person answer the phone (no voice mail)! We moved our site there last week and have found their support to be EXCELLENT! I hope they continue to live up to this testimonial as we migrate the rest of our clients over to them.
