By the way, my own vote was....

I have never made a site multi-language, but I DO want to. I just don't know where to start.

I was thinking about making one of my sites multi-language, with a couple simple text links at the top that would change the site's text to the corresponding language. At this point I'm researching which 2 or 3 other languages to translate for, based on web user population.

I have made a multi-language site before, and will continue to do so.

although english/arabic tend to be SO hard to maintain since arabic writing is from right to left,s so doing multi-lingual site is like looking into the mirror and converting images etc..

Bashar, I can only imagine. I'm getting a headache just thinking about it.

I just use my $language class with smarty template engine for dynamic sites. I can enter phrases into the database, and output them in whatever the user's language is in smarty like

{$lang->Phrase('welcome')}, {$username}, {$lang->Phrase('thereare')} {$totalusers} {$lang->Phrase('registeredusers')}

my option is not there.

in a few months time, i'll be needing to make a multi-language static website. i don't mind, since they are european languages and english.

i had also 1st hand experience in turkish website, but the deal didn't pull off, so the site was left hanging in my hdd.

as Informity mentioned, smarty's engine is flexible enough to create such a possibility easily.
