RCThost.com(beware)

I have been with RCT now for over a year and though there has always been downtime i could live with it.Over the last few months things have deterioated considerably and all their customers are and have been facing problems since late May and the problem is still going on.They themselves are now moving to a new provider and for me it means i cannot upload anything vai fTP nor frontpage. The site is now up but not being able to add to it is frustrating to say the least. They also used to have a 'community forum'. The forum still exists but only for them to post announcements etc. Any hint of a complaint was soon wiped off the board and now you can't opost at all.Their 'hosting assured' banner has now disappeared (unsurprisingly). The funny thing is they are currently advertising to pay for a 'lifetime' upgrade and asking for you to refer friends and get paid. To me this is just another insult so if you are considering RCT please check the web for a much info as you can. Don't be swayed by the price. Cheap is no good if you're having problems. I noticed RCT is advertising on this forum - Is this allowed.

First of all sorry to hear about your situation with your hosting provider....did the company already move another hosting provider or are they working on it now....have you contacted their support via email about your issue....

after they move to a new provider what i don't seem to understand is why can't you use ftp or fp extensions capabilty on the new providers....i would say if they don't respond to your support questions and fix the problems ASAP....its time for you to switch to a new hosting provider after you have done serious research about a host who is stable......some people might say the time has already been gone since you should have made the switch to a new hosting provider....anyways you might wanna use hostquote and then do reviews search based on those who respond.....

Good Luck

Finding a good host is the hardest part of an internet business. Look long and hard and ask other people.

caveot emptor, you get what you pay for, life sucks then you die. You know all the cliches. Ok life doesnt suck.

Its so heartening to hear such stories every now and then. It's becoming hard to trust a webhost. Guess some day we would have BHBI (Bad Host Bureau of Investigation)
BTW, Best of luck for future!

You can't always believe one persons review of a web host.

We do not delete forum posts and not all customers are having problems. We are having trouble with frontpage on 1 server. We are also facing the difficult task in moving to a new provider and so of course there are some glitches we are trying to work out as fast as possible. Most clients are not having any problems at all. Once the move is completed this week everything will be back to normal.

I don't mind complaints, you can't please everyone. I just noticed some false claims that I wanted to clear up.

You don't have to believe one person's review of a web host - go have a look at the rcthost community forums :

Here are the titles of the latest topics :

"Site not working for the 6th time"
"Email not working on Kappa"
"Can RCT Host please respond"
"Addon Domains not working on Kappa"
"Site not found and no CPanel"

Yes they do delete posts.

Email has been working on-off for the last 2 months, with many emails disappearing into a black hole

sites down constantly

rcthost does not admit to any problems.

I can't imagine how fast they are losing customers.

If anybody is making false claims, it's rcthost.

BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why is it always 1 post people that make claims, and then different 1 post people that jump on the flame bandwagon?

Aea, if you're not aware, these forums exist for users to share their experiences about hosts, I posted about rcthost to warn people about their unbeleivably bad service and thus try to save anybody else from months of frustration.

If you have something useful and constructive to say - then say it, otherwise go waste your time somewhere else.

Aea, Tris-SA,so what if they register just to complain about the host? It's a valid use of these forums.

I've been with rcthost.com for about 1 1/2 years and for a long time they were a great host. Fast connections, no problems, VERY fast responses to problems even at 3-4 in the morning on a weekend.

I can't say the same any more. Downtime is a very common occurance now. In fact as I write this the database on their alpha server are down. I can even post a trouble ticket since their site is on the same server.

Granted most of the problems that i've personally seen have been handled fairly quickly... it's the number of problems that bothering me and the people that use my web sites hosted by them.

I'm currently shopping around for a backup and don't have plans on renewing my yearly contract with them unless things improve and VERY soon.

Why you guys complaining dont post your WEBsite link?
if they ever exist! ( i mean its always good to give weight to your complaing)

and dont feel bad when people dont trust on some Host
complaing (information is always good) but its like Aea said, its
recuring:

* some one complaing
like 1 or 2 days later (like 3 more complaing with just 1 post on this forum)

Both Side always have the benefict of the Doubt!

Note: My English S.... ( i know, i just do my best)

try checking profiles..... many people list their site there.. as I did.

Also the only reason I signed up for an account here was to complain. My posting ONE message doesn't change the fact that my host is having problems.

Also, you can't post urls if you have not posted at least 5 times here...
