Need help with "Venomhost"
Well I was searching around Google and stumbled around this site....so hello to everyone & I hope I can post my problem here, because I have run out of ideas:
OK here is my problem...My band currently has a website hosted by "venomhost" 6 days ago, the server completely went down, I have e-mailed and IM them twice a day, for those 6 days, I haven't herd anything from Brian Reiss. I cannot even gain access to my Cpanel. My band decided to move hosting, so yesterday I purchased new hosting, here is the problem, I need to transfer nameservers from one host to the other, only Venom Hosting, has a lock on the current name server and I cannot change name servers till I gain access to where it is being parked. Am I screwed until Venoms host comes back up, or is there another way to get it released?. I have been at this for 28 hours now, and to no avail. Any suggestions or similar situations like this that have been resolved would be really helpfull. Thanks in advance to any and all help.
If anyone knows Brian and has a contact number, I would really like to get a hold of him

Are you saying that your domain name was purchased through venomhost?

I tried Cpanel both ways, nothing is working. I got my domain form Dirt cheap doamins, but he changed servers to Apache about 2 months ago, and moved my name server to his control, unaware to me at the time from dirt cheap. I also went to Whois and got the same info, but the phone # is not his, or so the old lady that answerd said I had the wrong number.

anyone got a hold of the owner of venomhost? A client got his domain registered thru venomhost and now he can't update the DNS.

Apache, a web server, has nothing to do with DNS. How did he move your name server to his control? You purchased your domain name with Dirt Cheap Domains, did you tell him your login info to directly access your domain name account? If so, I feel bad for your naiveity.
This kid sounds very unpromising, and if he put a BS phone number, I don't know what to say.

Yes that is exactaly what happen, and yes I was inexperienced as to running a website. Believe me I know what not to do now, I will manage my own domain from here on out.
I understand what I did wrong, now what can I do to fix it

Well, the good part is you learned from what you did wrong.
Now, in order to fix this situation, I would advise you to contact Dirt Cheap Domains, and show them proof that you have been defrauded such as an invoice for one month, explain your situation, and request that they reset your account and transfer access to you.
I hope you don't give future hosts (they shouldn't even ask for it...) direct access to your domain account, all they should need from you is you to change your nameserver information at the registrar to their nameservers, so the domain will point to the site that is hosted with them.

Euh.. you all quote the whois information about venomhost but if you look up magnetheadband.com (assuming that is the site in question) it's not registered to venomhost at all but to a Eric Aitalla and it's registered with Enom.

I was thinking the same thing, however it is probable that he is talking about another site.

You are correct, maybe I miss spoke, Eric used to be a part of our band, but had parted ways, and yes he purchased the domain, for us, which I bought from him, for the band....magnetheadband.com, is ours. It expires in Aug. but all renewal will made by me. Anyways, and again I may be a rookie at all this, I have the info from Go Daddy, it says "Status : registrar-lock
and it does list the name severs, but that doesnt help me. I guess I will have to try Dirtcheap domains and see what they can do.
Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thanks guys
