    Question chmod rc.sysinit1????

    I need to chmod rc.sysinit1 so that i can make changes to it and save it but its not letting me chmod it and its not letting me save it either. how can i go about editing this file and saving tha chages?

    Im on a Linux Server.

    What kind of error is it giving you? Perhaps you need to change attributes on the file.

    What do you get when you type:

    lsattr -la rc.sysinit

    I got this:

    rc.sysinit Secure_Deletion, Immutable

    Try this:

    chattr -i rc.sysinit

    the edit the file, save it and then do

    chattr +i rc.sysinit

    Let me know if this works out
