Hardware:
WebHostingTalk is currently running on a powerful VA-Linux dedicated server provided by Voxel, in exchange for the sponsorship button in bottom left and some banner impressions. The server is a Dual Intel Pentium III 750mhz equipped with 512mb SDRAM and a generous 18gb SCSI hard drive.

Software:
The server OS is a modified version of Red Hat Linux 7.1. The web server is an optimised version of Apache 1.3 and the database is mySQL. The forum software is VBulletin.

Performace:
The server runs flawlessly even during peak times, load averages rarely peak above 0.5 and are generally below 0.25, in other words we have plenty of room for expansion. We use persistent connection to the mySQL database and have compiled the PHP directly module into Apache to reduce script execution time.

Connectivity:
Voxel also provide the hosting services for WebHostingTalk. The server is mounted in one of Voxel’s racks located in Abovenet’s NYC facility. The server is connected directly to Internet via a 100mbit Ethernet connection and uses over 60gb of bandwidth each month.
